"New years" Resolutions
Yes I know its not new years yet but considering right now we are re writing our budget and working on the house and all I decided to write our Goals in 2011. We will probably add to them but here is our start.
1. Our #1 goal for 2011 is to get double what we have in our savings right now. We have enough to feel secure if we were to have to live off our savings for a few months but we would like to have at least $4,000 more.
2. Pay off Chadd's school loan. There is very little left on it so that will be paid off in February and the money from paying the loans will go into savings thus helping with goal #1!
3. Finish house,fence in backyard
4. Buy Chadd a "new" (to us ) truck that we can all fit in. He loves his truck but its a s10 and there is no room for all of us.
5. Lose the last of the baby weight. Im happy to say in 2010 I lost some inches, enough that I am ok with. But there is still the last bit there that i am determined to get off.
6. Get ORGANIZED. My house at this moment is so disorganized! Yes I realize that its because Im in a 900 sq foot house with no basement, no garage, and 2 small closets. But thankfully the new part of the house will have tons of storage and I can finally have a place to put everything! Cause I have to tell ya clutter annoys me so bad. I NEED a place for everything.
7. Get rid of Ki's binky!! I am letting her keep it until January cause we have a wedding in florida and a 14 hour drive without binky doesnt sound like fun!
8. Completely catch up on scrapbooking. I have all the photos printed and sorted i just have to put them in the books. There isnt alot cause I did everything up til this summer.
9. Drink more water. I am terrible at this!
10. Keep up my cleaning schedule. Its not really a goal so much as just a reminder. I have it set so every day I have 1 hour of cleaning I do, then by the weekend the house is clean and it helps me to do some deep cleaning also. Since its not focusing on the whole house at the same time I can focus on deep cleaning something and not feeling overwhelmed since It only takes 1 hour a day. Im sure with adding 700 sq feet on to clean yet I will have to keep my schedule!

Thanksgiving
This year Im thankful for -
*My husband. He is more then I could ever ask for!!
* our daughter! She is such a joy and brings so much fun to my days. I am also thankful for her health and that we have had such a good year!
*Finances. I am so very thankful that we were able to add on to our house within our budget and still pretty much get everything we wanted to add to the new part.
*As a side bar from the last one, Im thankful that God blessed Chadd with a awesome paying job so I can stay home with Kianna.
*Great insurance. We have had quite a year with me and my heart problem and tons of medical procedures and test and I am sooo very thankful for great insurance that we have only had to pay a fraction of what we have done.
*My car. It is so reliable and never lets me down. Its not a sporty suv or fancy minivan but its paid off, its cheap on gas and it runs!
*Cable tv!!! I know alot of people are cutting back on watching tv and disconnecting satellite and cable but Im home all week just me and Ki and I honestly think I would go nuts if I didnt have tv. I love the noise during the day.
*The ability to bake and cook. I am so very thankful I was blessed to have a mom who cooks and bakes so well. I can do just about anything, not that I do, lol. But if I had to I could!
*Family who is always there for us

Leaving & Kianna-ism's
We are headed out soon to spend the rest of the week in Indy with Chadd. He has a work confrence there and his work pays for the room and gas so we Ki and I are tagging along for the ride. Last year we went when Ki was almost 3 weeks old and it was sooo easy. She just slept!! Now Im wondering what the heck Im going to do with her all day in a hotel room!!!
Now for some Kianna-ism's. She has been such a ham lately! These are just the few I can remember.
--She started saying "OK' lately, like she uses it in the right context. Its hilarious
-- This morning Chadd left his coffee cup sitting on the floor and it was half full yet. She walks up picks it up, takes a big sip and carries the cup to chadd without spilling a drop!!
-- At CVS today we went down the toy aisle and she saw this little stuffed puppy. She was playing with it and sees another toy so she drops the puppy. I put the puppy back and start walking out of the aisle. She realizes the puppy is back where it was before and turns around walks back, picks the puppy up and throws it at the cart like 'mom! I want the puppy'.
--She laughs everytime we laugh. Its too cute! She does a real put on throw's her head back laugh.

Birthday party
Kianna's party is officially over. It was alot of fun but Im glad its over! We were so blessed to have Kianna's great grandparents all there (that are still living) , one of her friends from childbirth class all the way from Louisville and also my cousin Lacey and her boyfriend Jonathan from alabama!
Kianna was very grumpy and I could not figure out what was going on. I blamed it on her not feeling good cause she has had a runny nose all last week. Well sunday morning AFTER the party we discovered she has not 1, not 2 but 3 NEW TEETH popping through! No wonder, poor little girl!

Weaning
Kianna is almost totally weaned!! Yay! I had planned to wait until she was 1 then start weaning her one session a week until she was done, so like over a months time. Well since all this medical stuff came up all the sudden for me and for a while I had no idea if I was going to end up in the hospital for over night stays, have surgery, Be on medications I couldnt nurse on . . .etc. And I didnt want to risk the chance of those and knowing Kianna had never had formula or milk other then breastmilk. So I decided to just go ahead and start weaning a few weeks ago. She eats pretty much table food full time anyways so its not been too hard. I despise formula and refuse to use it unless I have to so I put her on raw goats milk. She is taking it in a bottle at bedtime right now and eating fruits, veggies, meats at meals. She is still nursing when she wakes up in the morning but thats the only time. Its bitter sweet to be almost finished, I had a pretty easy nursing time with her, never really had any problems except for mastitis a few times.
Such a big girl I have now!! 11 months old post coming up in a few days!!!

Me, Kianna
Me- We planned to go to the zoo monday and got all the way to evansville and I had severe pains in my sides and ended up coming back home and going to urgent care. They diagnosed it as UTI. I went to see a Herbalist on saturday and he told me then that my kidneys were weak. Im guessing I probably had the start of the UTI then already and it just didnt hit me big until monday. He also told me my circulation is bad, the energy coming to and from my heart is at 1 and it should be 10, my hormones are inbalanced and I have gunk on my lung lining. So I am on a bunch of herbs to get it back in track. I go back in 3 weeks to check up. Then yesterday my Chiropractor and I were talking and he said sounds like my diaphram. He said if you have alot of indigestion and heartburn since your diaphram is by your stomach when your stomach tightens from pains and heartburn it can seize your diaphram up and you cant get as much oxygen in with each breath. So he gave me some breathing techniques and we shall see.
Kianna- Is officially walking. Not just steps, full out walking. EVERYWHERE! And the girl is so fast. She also has found a screaming voice. Yesterday I dont know what her deal was but all day she would scream at me, I think it was part attitude as she is really getting to be a stinker when I tell her no. Today at walmart she was squealing so loud I was sure people thought I was hurting her.
I think we are going to try for the zoo tomorrow again. Lol. Hopefully it doesnt rain all day.

Allergies
Poor Kianna has her Daddy's allergies. Yesterday she was all snotty and when she woke up from her fitful afternoon nap her one eye was all swollen and red and watery. I called her Ped to see if they thought it was allergies or a cold and the nurse said its allergies and to give her childrens claritin. She woke up after she went to sleep last night and was half asleep and just kinda moaning. I finally got her to sleep and she slept until 7am! This morning she seems to be in a much better mood and her eye looks better.
My Dr called yesterday and wants me to wean myself off the inhaler. So we shall see how it goes when Im off it if my symptoms get bad again. Someone mentioned it maybe anxiety attacks as they have those symptoms. If it comes back once the inhaler is gone Im going to ask my Dr about it. Its worth a try. Good news is I walked to the library and back the other night (1.5 miles) and didnt feel too bad so thats good!!
I cant believe its september already! My baby is almost one! I know oct 18th will be here before I know it. I miss her baby stage, althought I am enjoying the stage now and the more she talks and you can see her personality coming through I know this stage will be fun too!

Other families
Ok so this is going to be a "deep" post. Lol. On one of my mommy chat boards I frequent there was a thread started today about the Duggar Family. Now there is alot of controversy about the Duggars. Some of the main issues people have with them are
-They have too many kids, they cant possibly be a good parent to them all
- They dont use cloth diapers, think of all the disposable diapers in the land fill (Come on- would you really want to add 2 or 3 kids in cloth diapers laundry to the already crazy laundry schedule they must have? Yeah Im all for cloth diapers but I can totally see why they wouldnt want to!)
- They use styrofoam cups and drink *gasp* sodas!!
- They use forms of discipline (Most of my mommy boards are very much against any form of discipline. I totally disagree but I keep that to myself)
So I just have to say that honestly I think people that bash other families, Duggar family included are just childish. I mean who is to say that one way of living is right for every family? I have a friend that lives in a yurt, has no running water, no electricity, veggie oil car instead of gas. . . etc. . .Now that way of living is not for me but who am I to say that she shouldnt live that way if she wants to? She is very happy so who is to say it doesnt work for her family? Then I have family and friends that use disposable diapers, dont make there own laundry soap, use alot of paper products . . .etc. And Who am I to say that they are living bad? Thats what works for them and so more power to them. I cant understand why so many people think that there way of living and parenting is the only way. Im sure there are people that think my way of parenting is not right, thats fine, it works for us! I have some people that are giving me crazy looks cause I said Im working on weaning Kianna slowly, one feeding at a time for the next 2 months.Well, breast feeding til they are 2 or 3 might work for some people but not me.
Oh well. All I can say now is I think the duggars are very sweet family. Yes they may do things that some people think is crazy and this day in age having 19 kids is considered insane but they are happy so who cares?

Dr App Update and Ki pictures
Well the Dr's office called yesterday around 4:30 and said the results all came back and one of my levels were high and they wanted me to go to the hospital and get a CT scan right away. So off I went back to the hospital. I was very unprepared and had no idea what to expect. Within 1/2 hour of the CT scan my Dr himself called me and said it was all clear. Thank God. He prescribed me a inhaler for now to see if it helps my breathing and then we will go from there if it isnt helping. Needless to say yesterday was a very trying day for me, so many test and possible problems and then none of them ended up being whats wrong with me. Im thankful that everything came back normal but also a little concerned yet that the Dr hasnt been able to find anything that is causing this. However I did notice after using the inhaler last night before bed I slept really well and today I was able to breath a bit better. I still felt short of breath at one point but Im going to give myself a week or so to see if it gets better. I was suprised it wasnt anemia. I am going to pick up the blood work results tomorrow at the Dr so I can see for myself what my Iron/hemaglobin levels are, I still think I maybe slighly low.
Tonight we took Ki to the park since it was so cool. She loved the slide this time, she laughed everytime we went down it. She is such a people person. She just sit in the swing and watched everybody.

And last- A video of Ki last week. She keeps yelling "Bob" and I have no idea where she got it from. We dont know any bobs. .
