I thought I better do a bit more of a update now that I have a few minutes.
Sunday morning about 1 am I woke up with contractions or what I thought was contractions. I wasnt sure so I got up and came out to the livingroom to time them for a while. At 2:30 am I realized it was really it and woke Chadd up. I had 3 contractions after I woke him up and realized the intensity of them and called the midwife. They were 7-8 minutes apart and about 45 seconds long. The midwife said to call her back when they got closer. 1/2 hour later they were 5 minutes apart and lasting a minute. We called the midwife back and called our Doula to come. I tried to handle the contractions on my own for a while before getting in the birth pool but they were getting really intense so we filled the birth pool. It helped take the edge off for a while but then it was like I got used to the water and it didnt do any good. So from about 3am til 5:30am i went back and forth from the shower to the tub. About 5:30 I started feeling nauseous and the contractions were every 2-3 minutes. I knew from child birth class that it meant I was pretty close to transition. I started to get a little worried cause the midwife wasnt here yet. At 5:45 the midwife arrived and checked me and I was at 9.5 cm and the bag of water was bulging. The doula got her a little after that. I labored for a bit more in the tub before the midwife suggested she break my water. I think she said she broke my water around 6:30. I had to get out of the birth tub to actually push because the baby's heartrate would drop a bit when I would push. I ended up pushing on a birth stool. She was born at 7:13am. I dont remember that it was that hard, I just remember saying over and over "I cant do this" . Chadd and my doula did a great job of reminding me I was almost done and i could do it.
Kianna was perfect at birth, Nothing wrong with her. Her Apgar score was 9 1 minute after birth and 10 5 minutes after birth. She was 7 pounds,2 ounces and 19.5 inches long.
I on the other hand started bleeding pretty bad and the midwife said there was no tearing on the outside at all. And i passed out once so they decided I better get in to the ER and see where the bleeding was coming from. That was harder on me then the labor. Having to get up 15 minutes after birth, get dressed and walk. I was really weak and I dont remember much on the ride to the hospital. Once we got there they took me straight up to OB. The Dr tried to repair the tears without numbing me or anything and I was in so much pain I could not hold still. So they decided the best choice was to give me a spinal block and put me to sleep and fix them. I had several tears on the inside and the dr said it took about 50 minutes to repair. Once I came out of recovery I was stuck to the bed for the next 6 hours because of the spinal block I was totally numb from the waist down. About 4pm they got me up and had me try to walk. I was able to walk but I had to be able to go to the bathroom before they would let me go home and i still didnt have enough feeling there to be able to go. So they cathed me since it had already been since 11am that I had went last. I was really worried I would have to be admitted and stay overnight but finally after lots of prayers I was able to go the bathroom on my own about 8pm.
By the time we were dismissed and all it was 9. I was never so glad to come home!! We had great nurses at the hospital though and i am really thankful for them! They made it alot easier on me to be there even though it wasnt how I wanted it to be.
The stitching and recovery has been the worst part of the whole experience. The birth was nothing, I would do it over again in a heartbeat but the tearing and recovery time I have now is definetly got me a little scared for next time.
Kianna is doing great. We took her to our Pediatrician yesterday and she said she is perfect. Everything looked normal. She was down to 6'14oz but she said that isnt bad. She was also tongue tied and the pedi clipped it cause she said it can make nursing more painful. We also were able to get her newborn screen test done at the hospital yesterday.

A post for ME
Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
James 5:7-8
Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry
Psalm 37:7
Wait and trust the LORD. Don't be upset when others get rich or when someone else's plans succeed.
Yep, we are still here waiting. I had a little breakdown this morning. I think my hormones are gearing up but I just lost it. I was crying and no idea why. So I have been spending most of today praying and trying to calm myself down and telling myself over and over to be patient! Praying for myself and a easy delivery and for the baby and that everything will be healthy. The mental aspect is definitely harder on me then the physical part of being big and pregnant. I really dont feel bad at all. A little back ache and lots of cramping and not sleeping much but really no physical problems. So Im reminding myself over and over today to have patience. . . .

39 weeks
Your baby's waiting to greet the world! It continues to build a layer of fat to help control its body temperature after birth, but it's likely it already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. The outer layers of its skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
My pregnancy status @ 39 weeks
* Belly went from measuring 37-1/2 cm last week to 34 cm this week which means baby dropped!
*Weight Gain is around 30# with most of that being gained the last 3 weeks.
*Midwife says babys head is WAY down and ready but she thinks the baby is sucking its thumb so its hand is by the face.
*3 Cm Dilated and almost fully effaced!!
*Lots of BH contractions and cramping the last 2 weeks. Starting to lost my appetite although Im starving hungry nothing sounds good.
And with labor fastly approaching and all the "unknown" lying ahead of me yet the last week my mind has been holding onto this verse:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Phil. 4:13
And did you know in the bible it says 365 times DO NOT FEAR. I didnt know that until I started reading!

Sittin round waiting. . . .
. . . . . Patiently. . . Ok not so patiently. TRYING to be patient is more like it. We are so ready to meet the little one its not even funny! On one hand for me its bittersweet to realize that the time for baby to come is here already. I am realizing my days of pregnancy are fewer and fewer and although I cant wait to hold my baby on the OUTSIDE I cant help but feel a little sad that I can no longer "protect" my baby like I have for 9 months. Chadd is so excited to meet the baby, I cant wait for him to be able to help with the baby and hold the baby. He has been such a amazing support for all 9 months I cant imagine what I would do with out him.
My midwife appointment on monday went well. I was only there 15 minutes! She said its just a waiting game now. Everything is good, my blood pressure, sugar, weight gain, no swelling, baby's heartrate is still great. Nothing to be concerned about. She doesnt do exams until your in labor or your 40 weeks whichever comes first so I dont know if there is any dialation or effacing going on BUT the midwife did say that since the baby is so low that she is pretty sure that I am thinning at least if not starting to dialate some. But we cant know for sure.
We also met with our Doula on sunday afternoon. She will be coming when I go into labor. She came just to make sure she could find our house and to talk about what we wanted in labor, etc. She also helped calm some of my fears I had about actual labor/birth so I am very glad she came.
My birth pool is blown up, the birth supplies are stacked in a box waiting to be used and my house is pretty clean. Now we wait. . . . .
